After a day of one person's shitty comments (who put C up to posting) that were nit picking and dividing who will and will not be welcome, when I did no such thing, I have posted my own response, even after bitch slapping C and she deleted her post.
"I have heard many comments of how 505 is dearly missed. Since I started my new job, the managers of the bars I work for have discussed how the LGBT community is under served and also talked about how great 505 was. Through numerous conversations of what we could do, I have made arrangements to rent out Duke's and I personally have advertised in select publications, contacted list serves and talked with different LGBT and Women's Resource Centers. I do understand that not all patrons of the 5 were lesbians, there were some straight women there too, not all patrons identified as women, and I could go on to try to be all inclusive of how the patrons self identified, but this is not the point or purpose of this event. I have simply tried my best to reach out and put together a fun "reunion" of sorts to those who have made such comments and share the sentiment of missing 505. If you feel this event does not suit your taste and would prefer to have a different "theme" or have ideas for events and no place to hold them, then make a plan and contact me. I am willing to share the information I am learning and the resources I am finding as I go through this process. As I stated, the managers do feel the LGBT community is under served, and this is just one example of what we can do, not all that can be done."
