Awfully quiet around here...

I've been in a down mood over the last week, mostly through tiredness, stress and pain. But I had a job interview on Wednesday, which is a much larger step forward than previously. I'm pretty terrible at reading my chances with it but hopefully my nerves didn't make a complete fool out of me and I at least seemed reasonable. I'll hear back sometime this week.

The field trip to Gummingurru just got cancelled due to rain. BARROWMAN *fistshake at sky* On the upside: I'll get signed up next week for paid - PAID - lab work, however much that'll be... and should I not get this other job (which, let's face it, would be Made of Awesome - it's essentially cold case historical work with Indigenous people - I'd be great at it!) I'll be sending in my newly renovated CV to Every Contract Archaeological Place there is... (the trick is finding them. No-one advertises. It's all word-of-mouth. Anyway.)

Had a bit of a melt down on saturday, after the (hopefully) going away party for lovely people whom I'm sad to see go (but to Oxford! OXFORD! Nope, not jealous at all!). Realised that my completely shaken to the core self-confidence needs to be sorted out. And I'm working on that.

I've made 1.5 handwarmers in a gorgeous Amy Pond-inspired red. Going to make a scarf in the same pattern. I love working with it (made my mum a scarf-hood thingie in the same stuff) but ran out of the colour, which then disappeared from Lincraft shelves OF COURSE, but then I managed to find the very last ball in the colourway today, so am pleased and knitting. I'm using this pattern for the handwarmers, but with broken-rib stitch (slip 1, YO, K2, P2 until last 4 stitches, then K2 P1 K1) instead of moss stitch and 6 stockingette rows at the end rather than 4 since I have long hands. Though I like the moss stitch so much I think I'll give it a go with a stash ball of wool. Surely there's a ball in there somewhere... and I think I need one multiple higher than the one in the pattern. These ones fit, but aren't quite as stretchy as I like... with use I know they will get better though. *thinky*

I have watched all of The Brief, which is an Alan Davies show of a couple of years ago. He's lovely, he is... and there was a Miss Marple which was quite excellent and had bonus!Tom Baker for random lols. There are some Miss Marples with just about every actor in Britain in them. It's quite marvelous. I must admit that Geraldine McEwan is always going to be my favourite, but I quite liked Julia McKenzie in Murder is Easy too (extra bonuses include: Benedict Cumberbatch, Tim FUCKING Brook-Taylor OMG, Shirley Henderson of Moaning Myrtle fame, Lyndsey Marshall (who is seriously beautiful... ) and Anna Chancellor (also seriously beautiful) who was in 40 Something with Benedict. Excellent cast.)

Um. Merlin! So loving that it's back. Intrigued by Morgana's storyline but feel that there was a bit of an abrupt transition between s2 and 3 with the I'm just gonna hate on Uther (with good reason) to I'm gonna kill everybody in Camelot to get revenge on Uther! I kind of love that she's still at court and Merlin has to deal with her on a daily freaking basis. I still maintain that if Merlin had casually mentioned "oh me too with the magic thing" back at the start of season 2 when she wasn't not giving a shit about innocent lives, then maybe a whole lot of this could have been averted. Boys. Honestly.

Okay.
