Today I took a walk through a field outside of the Shire. As I was walking I saw a border collie comming up around the corner of the fence line. Then an English springer so always my first reaction when I see dogs are to call them or whistle. That way if they are hostile you can imediatly tell and prepare for impact or climb a tree or what ever.So it turns out they are good ones. Then came an older fellow whom the dogs belonged to.Very nice old man named Bob who was from the Shire naturally. We talked about small town living and chinese laber. He was a pilot in THe royal air force and still flys today. Oh we talked about Dublin too.As I continued on down the fence line I came upon a bench and I thought how peculure.A bench in the middle of nowhere? However after examining the ground I began to notice brick crosses laying on the ground and thought there are people burried here! But further examination led me to see that most people arnt named things like "Bubbles" and "spot". It was an animal graveyard quite old too.Somebody recently left a dozen yellow roses at Bubbles grave. They must of really loved that dog.Or was it a cat? Or a muskrat for that matter?I'll never know.
