Change Depends on Your Choices

How do you have a changed life?

How can you make your life different?

What is your view of God?

Have you ever wanted to be someone else? i don't mean literally, I mean in your own life. You wanted to be different, better than you are now. You wanted to make better decisions. You are getting tired of always ending up short of the finish line. Answer these 4 Questions:

1. Will I choose to wait because I know God is working things out or will I get tired of waiting and make up my own mind?

2. Will I choose to work as hard as I can for change in my life, even if I don't see immediate results?

3. Will I choose to open up the hurt and anger in my life because i believe God heals, as a loving and compassionate Father or will I continue keeping my emotions and problems to my self?

4. Will I choose to deal with harmful friendships and pick healthy ones because I believe He is the model of a true friend?

You see, each one of these requires action on our part. It requires us to make good choices instead of bad choices. If we continue to make bad choices, we limit God's power and it's effect on our lives. If you don't believe that God is good, then you will not make good choices.

Do you believe He is rewarder for those who seek Him?

It is easy to settle for second best because it takes less effort. But God gives us all the ability to make choices and the consequences of those choices are what we get in the end. Yet, when we settle for second best and get hurt or get into trouble, we blame God for not giving us clear enough direction or for not bailing us out.

How stupid are we!!!!!!!! We have been learning about Cause and Effect our whole lives. We also know that we have the freedom of choice in our lives. So why blame God for our situation.

Now heartache of losing a loved one to death is another story but we have the ability to rise above the pain after a period of time. After losing my Father in law and sister in law within a month of each other, i never thought that the pain would subside, but for me it has. God has taken my pain and restored it with love. He has replaced my doubt with understanding. There are just some things that are natural in this world and they are set in place, even if we don't agree or understand.

God is above addiction, he is above punishment for sin, he is above consequences, he is above death but we have to choice to put ourselves in situations that will make us stronger. If we choice to continue to not go ofter God's best for our lives, we will always come up short.

A Spring Break retreat can't do it, a mountain retreat can't do it, a sermon can't do it, a friend can't do it, a song can't do it. Now those may become the spring board for change in your life but if you find yourself looking for the next retreat to get back on track, you have already told God that he isn't worth the rest of your time in life.

Decide on the results of your life right now!!!!!! make a decision to stick to what is right and good. Don't settle for anything less than God's best.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22; "Examine everything carefully, hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil."
