So - I haven't been updating with career or classes or anything.
I'm taking this class where I work at the Rothbury Festival this weekend. Don't know what the Rothbury festival is? rothburyfestival.com
It's going to be amazing - well with the class we were sleeping on tents and had to bring food, and would maybe get a shower. It's the price to work at such a wonderful event - not to mention I get to possibly rub shoulders with famous people.
Well - we had to chose a focus - aka someone to work for, and to learn from. We would tell our professor *what* we were interested in helping with - and she would get us contact info. AEG, Charm City Hospitality, Gibson, Spitfire Agency; basically huge people working for huge companies.
Well little to say, I was floored when I finally figured out what I would be doing for the festival.
I'm working with artist credentials. I'll be checking in and verifying staff and artists all weekend. Not only this (because what an awesome gig to land) but I'll be put in a hotel, have free food, and also (wait for it...) get paid everyday. Let's just say it's a good chunk of change for the weekend. I don't want to blab the amount around.
I have to be nice to asshole rockstars all day - and be happy doing it. I'm so fucking excited.
The one downside? I get to work 17 hour days.
Come on.... who's jealous?
I'll let you know how sweet it is when I return on Sunday.
