Renaissance Festival

We went to the Renaissance Festival yesterday (Saturday). When I say we, I mean Katie and I, we left the boys with their grandma.
It was great! The weather was absolutely perfect. Clouds kept the sun at bay for almost the whole day. The sun came out after about 3:30, but we were pretty much done by then anyway.

The shows were great. We started off with London Broil, which I had seen a long time ago, but Katie hadn't seen before. Then we went to see the Tortuga Twins, who I think are hilarious, but Katie is not so impressed with. I got a turkey leg and a soda and prepared to be entertained. So while I watched the show, Katie went wandering around to look at stuff. Then came the Ded Bob Show which happened to be on the same stage as the Tortuga Twins, so I just stayed there. Katie came back for the Ded Bob Show. I'm not sure, but I think there was a different guy playing sludge, or smudge or whatever the dummy's name is. The show was still good, so I suppose it doesn't matter. After Ded Bob, the Tortuga Twins were back with a new show. Not as funny as their first show, but I enjoyed in all the same.
After that we went walking around and looked at stuff. We got more food and drinks and headed over to see Dexter Tripp do his fireworks and water balloon show. The show was alright, but it seemed most of the time he spent telling us about the tricks, and getting set up for the fireworks and water balloons. I got to throw water balloons at him, along with about 50 other people. I don't think I will go to that specific show again.
We walked around for a while after that before heading over to the London Broil's last show. This is an unscripted show and it shows. They do some demonstrations and then take suggestions and questions from the audience. Most of the demonstrations degraded into silliness pretty quickly. Oh well, Katie liked it so it was fine. We decided to leave after that so we could go to the bookstore on the way home and still not be too late in picking up the boys. We both like going to the bookstore and spending time just browsing and picking out some things to sit down and look at. An evening at the bookstore is a good time. I try and buy something every time we go, which isn't often, to help support the store so we can enjoy the experience in the future.

All in all, this weekend was a good weekend, to bad it's going to be ruined by having to go to work and school on Monday.
