Been really into Helmet's Strap It On lately. I don't know what it is. I guess theres some little things here and there throughout the record I never paid attention to before. And besides that, I just groove man.
Been really into Paul Speckmann's bands (Master, Abomination, Death Strike, Speckmann Project) I think part of it is how early on the stuff was ('85) and how Master and Abomination existed alongside each other and both killed. Way different and awesome in their own right.
The XBrainiaX show was awesome to me. Not the greatest turnout but I've wanted to play with them for awhile so I'm stoked it happened. Musically, I was just blown away. It's EXACTLY the kinda music I want to listen to and play. I don't think we've played with a band before that we were so similar to. Been listening to their 2 cds constantly since that show.
Saints Row 2 might be the best video game ever. Theres certain aspects of it that may rocket it past GTA 4. Last night, I had a setting on where every car tried to run me over while theres practically no gravity so my guy was just getting wrecked and thrown everywhere. Theres also a code where you don't die. So doing that with 7 Minutes of Nausea in the background is somewhat.. cleansing. Just a complete mess. If I woulda had a Cherry Coke next to me, it could have been the perfect night.
Really need to record soon. I feel like we have this great opportunity in front of us and we're just pissing all over it. The shows this month are gonna be great but I can't let them drown out the recording process
