i learned that from first year, you cant leave things to the last minute. im not sure if you are, but procrastination gets you nowhere.
i've also learned that for sure your marks WILL drop from highschool. i for one was getting 80s and 90s in highschool, and i've become okay with getting 70's in university and in some of my harder courses, even 60's because it is harder. its impossible to expect to get 90's which im sure you're not doing. i also realized that because im not doing grad school or my phd or anything, its not the end of the world if i get 60's ... im totally fine with that, but im not sure what you're doing.
also, if you have a test one week and another test the next week, make sure you focus on one thing at a time. dont try to get ahead of yourself unless you absolutely absolute HAVE to (like if you have 2 tests one day after another)
and sometimes, you have to sacrifice things like sleep and going out just cuz of school which im sure you know
i did really really bad first year but i've heard from everyone that first year is the hardest because you're making a big transition from highschool but as you get to later years, you get used to it and it becomes easier. so if your marks are low in first year, dont get disappointed or negative. just keep trying your hardest and im sure it'll pay off
hope that helped!
or i just ranted about nothing lol
