Holland extend winning habit

Well, we've done it. For the third time in a row the game was ours. Our 'B-team' (pardon my French - 9 out of 11 players were replaced) beat Romania by 2 to 0. It was a darn solid game, once the squad got rid of all the anxiety. This time they didn't earn any of the superlatives we've gotten used to over the passed few days. This win gave us nine goals in the group phase equalling the record set by France in 1984.

I'm so looking forward to the quarter finals on Saturday. I wonder who our next opponent is gonna be. Will it be Sweden or Hiddink's Russia? Well, it certainly ain't gonna be the reigning vice-world champ France, who didn't survive the Group of Death (considered by far the toughest of the four groups). *grins*

Here they are again: the quotes!

The Guardian (I've started to like those lads): "With almost all of their first-choice players on the bench, Holland still impressed."

CNN: "The Dutch [...] proved their second-string lineup is sound and solid, if not sparkling and spectacular."

BBC: "The Dutch appear to be having some sort of Champagne Moment competition."
