I'm free for two and a half weeks till the next phase of hell starts. Well, not exactly per se, since I have one last class of 2D Animation the coming Friday. But I have tons of time to do that! I can catch up on my beauty sleep now. X3 ( Read more... )

Hey, thanks for sharing! =]

I personally think this is awesome! So rich in detail! I know you don't think the shading's up to par yet, but to the untrained eye (aka, me >< XD), it looks crazy fantastic. Anyway, it's a good start on tree-shading, yeah? =]

Also, I love the expressions! You can see the madness (or is that 100% concentrated determination?) in the gorilla from here, and the Chinese!robot killing the dude is so cold-blooded killer. Naturally the scared girl in the tree and the older one being caught up in the rope-chain is well done too.

Although, upon first sight it was kinda difficult to figure out who was bad and who was good based on your drawing...I can guess though. Good = girl on tree with her wrist tied up, dragon in sky, lizard-like mechanical dude riding the dragon; bad = guy (or girl?) on bridge with the rope-arrow, psycho!walrus-gorilla, and Chinese!robot? Hope I'm not wrong..

That aside, I think this is the most detailed of anything I've seen from you before! Can't wait to see more of your stuff. *muacks* X3 =]

Thanks so much for your comment! <3

Heheh, you got the characters almost right. Actually, the gorilla's one of the good characters and the dragon's one of the evil... The lizard dude is actually strangling the dragon with his attachable loincloth. XDDDDDD

I know it's not easy to see that. We did lots of sketches and stuff though, with proper labelling and stuff (We had to show the movements and attacks of each character, and the loincloth move is the lizard dude's special attack, but it's really hard to determine that cause he's so tiny in the pic. As long as the lecturer knows which is which, it's fine.

I guess one way to determine which character is good or evil, you have to look at the general grouping... The god characters are the more organic-foresty looking (hence the gorilla and the tribal girl) ones and the evils are more metallic or something (the dragon doesn't exactly have the forest element), but it's a very subtle thing so I don't blame you for getting them mixed up. It does look very difficult to differentiate them, to people who haven't seen my in-progress stuff.

Thanks again for your lovely comments! I am improving (thank God for that), and hopefully won't stop improving. Your encouragement gives me heart. X3
