You know, I'm from TX and don't read the news often, so I didn't really know about any of this until I read your post, but I got interested and read that that law is going to require all banned breeds already living there to be fixed (I understand this), leashed (understand this too), but... muzzled when in public??? WTF. Also, any dog born there 90 days and onward after the law is introduced will have to leave or be EUTHANIZED. That is serriously one of the most retarded things I've ever heard, you know, as if the whole thing wasn't bad enough already.
Like you said, I've never really been pro-one breed either, but the general ass-headedness of people like this now just makes it impossible for me to not be pro-"bad breeds".

This lady came in to work (the kennel) the other day to visit her son's dog, who is a pit/staff mix. We were talking about the dog, and she said that people love the dog until they ask what kind it is, and then they put their face in their hands and sigh. She admitted that even she was a bit reluctant when her son had bough him, but now she is totally in love with the dog and cannot see why people give them such a bad rap.

... You have GOT to be kidding me. They can't see with their own friggin' eyes that it's a loving, wonderful dog, no matter WHAT breed it is?! What the hell.

Yup. It's an absolutely disgusting state of affairs. But rest assured that it will not go unchallenged. Things are in motion, that will hopefully bring this unconstitutional law to it's knees. And the sooner, the better.
