Snake at the Shelter...

Sometimes I really wonder about the THS.

Talking to one of the "small animal" people yesterday gave me so many mixed signals about that corn snake, it's not funny. It sounded like they were hoping for some kind of bidding war when it goes up for adoption. "Oh we expect a lot of interest." Well no SHIT. It's a breeding age adult red albino!

But you'd think having someone walk in with 13 years of experience WHO WORKS THERE, who's kept snakes into their senior years (instead of ya know, selling them because they're too old to breed for money), and who has no interest in breeding the snake to death... they'd be more like "Cool, you sound perfect! Fill out an application so we can skip the whole 'available to the public' bullshit.". Or something. *shrugs*

I've seen the same kind of stupidity in relation to their bias adopting out the dogs and shit too... but seriously, they'd make me fight them for a fucking SNAKE???

I dunno. Maybe I'll just go get one from a breeder, or get an "owner surrender" off kijiji when I get a new vivarium. There's no shortage of corn snakes being passed around after all.
