So, uh, hamsters.
So far, our hamsters have proven... odd, to say the least. But they've gotten odder. First off, the list of previous hamster weirdnesses:
Gender-changing
Virgin birth
Teleportation
The hamster that got out the front door, down the stairs, and went visiting our neighbors
Gay, bi, and lesbian hamsters
Clove, who thinks she is human and prefers to walk around on just her hindpaws
The latest strangeness... ok, if you have ever kept rodents, particularly hamsters, you know that they love to soak their bedding with their drinking water. We figured out WHY.
The hammies in the glass cage near the back door have taken up gardening. Yep. They have nice little rows of sprouting plants, with strips of paper towel laid down from the water dish along the rows to irrigate them. They aren't eating the sprouts, they aren't digging them up or disturbing them, but they clearly have been carefully pooping along the rows and watering them. WTF. Our hamsters are gardeners.
We're trying to figure out if we just have unusually odd hamsters or if this has something to do with their overexposure to us. o.O Either way. Weird.
