So My car makes it through the hurricane just fine. It was doing just fine or so I thought. But alas, I was on my way to see Kista and *sputter Sputter- Shake - Shimmy* My engine seizes up and I'm stuck in some drugged up red neck part of auburdale. So Kista comes and rescues me, we get it towed to the nearest Chevy dealership by crazy tow truck ( Read more... )

Yeah, I know the dealership charges outragously for stuff like that but I had no choice. when i broke down in auburndale i didnt want to pay $200 to have it towed back to tampa, and i didnt trust mechanics in redneckville that i didnt know, so the closest reliable place was the dealership. I knew at least that they knew their chevys. I've used ice cold air a few times and yes the labour is quite cheap and they seemed to do an ok job but last time i took it to them they couldnt figure out what the deal was with it and the mechanic pulled me to the side and said that he suggested i take it to a better reputable shop in town because he'd had bad experiences bringing his own car there. that doing any work other than standard oil changes and such that they are just as expensive as other places and dont know as much as other mechanics as far as diagnostics. he said they really didnt like to keep cars longer than a day there. So being that their mechanic told me this i didnt really trust that they would know what was wrong with it this time. Well i figure my mom is going to let me drive the kia until i've saved enough to get another car so i think i'll do that, cause the broken car still has problems unrelated to this problem so even if it did get fixed the other major problem might be the second end to its existence. By the way its a 1995 chevy Cavalier.

Ahaha. I had a '93. A wagon. Transmission trouble finally killed it. RIP, Beccamobile #2!

Yeah, if you've got a better deal going on driving another, working car, then go ahead with that. :P
