Hi there. My name is Jax Malcolm, but I suppose you gathered as much from the username. I'm a fanfiction author, poet, dreamer, and grammar whore. I've been seriously writing since I was ten, and since then, I've developed a strong respect for the English language. Because of that, I've been known to point out a person's every mistake when reviewing fanfiction, thus earning myself a reputation on some boards as a tough critic.
I'm very shy, so please don't think of me as pretentious upon our first meeting. Being polite (sometimes overly so) for awhile is my way of trying to maintain a good relationship between new friends until I get to know them enough to feel comfortable with being around them. It usually takes a month or two before I finally warm up to you, so please don't feel discouraged.
Also, be warned that I may not comment if I don't have anything to say. I hate making one-liner posts, and I especially feel awkward with commenting on a post concerning love or a fandom I don't follow.
I'm also fairly open-minded, mainly due to apathy. (In other words, believe in what you want.) As it is, though, I'm also fairly liberal, so you may want to avoid debates when speaking to me.
As a general warning, I will not friend the following:
-People with a superiority complex, especially if that complex is accompanied by the desire to make oneself feel big.
-Chauvinists.
-Militant (insert something here), especially if that person attempts to press their beliefs onto yours truly.
-People who insist on using netspeak, l33t, and/or 1337 in most of their posts.
-People who seem to agree with me unconditionally without elaborating on why (specifically to show they actually understand what I'm saying). In simpler terms, keep in mind my favorite quote (from Dane of ShutterBox): "I could have just told you that a watch wound backwards makes the wearer shit gold springs, and you would have agreed."
Other notes you may want to know before friending me:
-I'm into anime and manga which includes, yes, Pokemon.
-I don't mind shounen or shoujo ai, slash, or real-life homosexuality because I really don't see what the big deal is.
-I am happily single and will be for awhile. No, I will not bang you.
-Yes, I am female.
-I am of the Independent party, leaning towards idealistic socialism. In other words, the best government is nonexistent.
-I swear. A lot.
