first weekend back at school...
Anyone who reads this and cares probably already knows all about what's been going on, but that's fine, I'll put a brief update here anyway.
I was on the Hall Orientation Team this weekend, so of course I was crazy busy helping the freshmen move in and everything. I answered a ton of questions, both from students and parents. I like being able to help people ease into their new experience more comfortably. The freshmen seem like a good bunch, so this year should be good. Who knows though... Anything can happen in the course of a year.
We finally got our livingroom all set up, and I must say, it is very very cool. :) My roommates and I are getting along very well so far, and I think our differences make us all just quirky enough to work. Rock on.
The musical taste differences are funny, but we're working around them and laughing a lot.
Mike has gotten in touch with me since the hurricane (once again, most of you already know this), and I was very very very (ok, we'll just say TONS of "very"s) glad that he's ok. :) He's been in Pennsylvania staying with friends, and today he was on his way to Houston. His family has moved back into their house, which was just outside the area hit by Katrina. I'm sure there will be more to update on what he's up to, and I'll try to keep those of you who'd be interested as up-to-date as I am. For those of you who don't know, I <3 Mike. :P
I'm working on getting Teddy Cares going. As soon as I get KPB support I should be able to get the ball rolling a little more. It's a bit of a process, but I'm going to make it happen!
There's not much other news right now, other than the fact that I'm giving tours of UMD tomorrow from 3-5, and then we have our floor meeting from 5 until whenever it's over. They don't usually last very long, and I'm sure it'll be very boring for me since I lived in the apartments last year, and I kinda know the drill. Oh well, I'll go keep my roomies company. Hopefully the RAs do tie-dying this year, cuz that's tons of fun, and I have a shirt that I accidentally dyed pink, so I need to tie-dye it. :P
Anyway, I'm outta here... Time to sit around and do nothing somemore. Wheeee!
