So you all said it would happen....
and it has. I´ve got a job, a real 9 - 5 job in an open plan office with a big international company that has over 750 branches in over 100 countries!
I received the job alert through ABF e-mail service. The job was for a temp assignment, they needed someone to help out for 1 - 3 and they wanted the person to start immediately. I wasn´t going to apply for the job because my mom arrives on Monday for two weeks and I thought I don´t want to spend just a few hours with her daily when it´s a temp job. After a few hours of wondering if I should call and just chat to the guy, I called him. I never said anything about my moms visit and he asked me to come in and see him the same day with my CV and any other job related papers I have.
Daniel and I rushed off to Malmö for the interview, the guy that interviewed me was so relaxed and so nice. His wife is Swaheli and we chatted about everything but the job. After awhile he read through my papers and said that I should be permanently employed.
So he went off to call his collegue who works in the Exports department and they are looking for permanent staff. After chatting to her for TWO hours about everything and a little about the job, she asked me when I could start and I then told her about my moms visit. She said that it wouldn´t be a problem for me to enjoy my moms visit and then I can start working the 7th August!! YIPPEEE!!!!
She had to talk to her manager first about me, he is on holiday, but has given her the go ahead to find someone she would like in the department. She called me yesterday to confirm that I have the job and I am starting on the 7th!!
Only one problem (but not really a problem), most of the managers and staff are on holiday so there is no one available to tell me what I will be earning or to give me a contract when I start. I am not worried about this in the least. They´re a huge organisation and from what I have seen online in regards to salaries for what I will be doing, I will be smiling come pay day.
I´m so happy for me, and I am so happy for what this will mean to Daniel too. He won´t have to work extra jobs to make ends meet and we will finally have time and money to enjoy ourselves and enjoy our friends and family.
From next February the company will be offering staff discounted air tickets!! I can go visit my family at least once a year!!! How cool is that!!
