Election year, woohoo. Time for all you kids to stick on your punkvoter.com pins, put lyrics in your info that make no sense, and bitch and complain about something you can't change. Hi. This is Lacey. Just browsing around LJ and I found you. So I think you don't like me and all that jazz.. but I'm gonna say something about this entry anyway. It's ok that you're not into politics now, but do keep in mind that it's a good idea that this generation develop an understanding for their government early in life, because we need informed voters in this country (as there are so many out there now). I don't support the "down with Bush" punks because they don't know what they're talking about. However, I do agree with Bush opposers who have something to stand on. His educational policies are directed at the wrong age group (no child left behind was a disaster), we're in over our heads with a war we can't fight both physically and financially (which is also reminiscent of Vietnam.. but no one ever seems to learn from past mistakes), and our economy has been horrible since Bill Clinton left office. Because of uninformed voters, we can expect two more wars and a draft in a matter of two years. Politics effect our daily lives even as minors, and voting does matter. The democrats gave Dubya and his redneck fag hating conservative supporters a run for their money, and Clinton/Edwards are gonna put our country back on its feet in '08. :) Sorry.. maybe I get too fired up, and it doesn't matter now, but the kids have to educate themselves for the next election so they can base their vote on knowledge rather than propaganda and punk band rants.
