Karen Travis decides to leave the Expanded Universe
Karen Traviss made a post in her blog about her decision to leave the EU over issues with continuity.
While the exact details can't be disclosed (Traviss, like all other tie-in authors, had to sign an NDA), it's made pretty clear that Traviss chose to leave rather than see herself being placed to write in areas where she feels she would be underused, especially for a universe where she does not get most of her income from.
I think her books were some of the best. Although a lot of fans made their displeasure with her work known, she is always an intensely good author to me.
She'll be sorely missed.
