The candidates for my top ten movies list are all films that I either saw in the theater or through Netflix (57 total). I know that I saw more movies than this, but as I hadn't kept track of the others in any kind of systematic way, I decided to keep my list somewhat limited. the funny thing I do have to say, even though i havent even seen Let the Right One In yet, i know it will be my favorite film of 2008...As you know i loved the book....one of my favorite books of all time...And im not going to compare the book to the movie as i know they left some key parts from the book out of the movie....
the one film I do need to see is "The Wrestler"...i heard its a great film and anything Darren Aronofsky makes i have to see....I love the Dark Knight, i saw it 3 times in the movies, but i would of loved to of seen his version of Batman on film...He was the original Director chosen to do the new Batman films, but after a few years of scripts being tossed around, he decided to let it go...And im glad it was Chris Nolan and his brother who got the chance to do it....In some ways it was a brilliant choice because Nolan wasnt a comic book junkie and basically let his own vision for Batman grow....Aronofsky is a comic book junkie and i wonder if he would of felt he needed to use the comics more as influence than Nolan did....
and we just watched the first 3 episodes of Mad Men finally.....its really really good....we only have the 1 disc at a time with Netflix, so i have to wait to get disc 2.....in some ways i think i should just buy it as it might be a show i might watch over and over....

I saw The Wrestler a few weeks ago, and it's great; I wouldn't be surprised to see it on my top ten list of movies I saw in 2009. Aronofsky's vision of Batman would be ... weird. I can't picture it, although I'd love to see it.
MAD MEN! My life will not be complete until I've convinced everyone I know of the greatness of this show. You haven't even gotten to the really good episodes, either!
