It's been a while.
I survived Claudia's september. Drank for her the day after her birthday, got completely wasted a few days before the anniversary of her death.
Got up to date with Vesna, I paid, first time ever! And she got wasted with me (not so much, though, it seems four orange vodkas are not enough to call it wasted for her, though it was for me :P)
I have a friend from work that came to work with us for a year from Seattle, and I took her out during the bicentennial celebrations. We went to fondas and I got to see Los Petinellies live. I also went with her an a bunch of friends from work to the Cajon del Maipo last sunday, and showed her how to have a barbecue, Chilean style.
I've been full of work stuff to do. It's been tiresome, but fun. Had a field trip two weeks ago to Los Andes, got to go up in the snowy mountains and see condors moving up and above.
I have not touched anything to do with my thesis. Don't care, don't wanna be judged, don't want to talk about it, thank you.
I got a haircut yesterday, finally.
I've been obsess with Grey's Anatomy this season, and thankfully I've found people to talk about said obsession. I haven't watch much of anything else on tv. The premiere of Supernatural was boring and Glee only interest me for the musical numbers, though I got rec-ed a few fics and I'm enjoying reading them.
I'm very happy with every news NEWS related. The new album was great, the concert fanreports were fun to read and I'm happily waiting for the new single next month. I liked the song every much so!
I watched, like everyone else in the country, how the miners finally got out of the hole. I was happy to be wrong once again. I was a cynic about, and I still am, but I hope they don't end up with lots of psychological trauma and overexposure. I won't hold my breath about it, though. And I still see a storm coming with the extremely crappy situation the other miners, those who didn't spend 70 days buried in a hole in the grown, but the ones without a job all this time, working for a mining company that claims doesn't have the money to pay them, when are they gonna get a solution? Is our all smiles, all so patriotic, all so huge cynic of a president gonna take care of it? Like he did with the indigenous strike? Like he's doing with education? A bunch of momentary fixes that make him look good on camera but don't come to much in the long run? Right. I'll keep being a cynic, then.
OK, so I have mentioned pretty much all the things I can remember are important about the last four weeks.
Today.
Today my brother got in a car accident. Only a week since we got the car back from the shop because when my mom traveled with one of her friends to the north to take picture of the desert flowers back at the beginning of september, the car broke down. Today, the car got a flat tire in the middle of the highway tunnel, coming back from taking my mom to the airport. While my brother was waiting for the pick up truck that's suppose to be there in two minutes or less (that's what the highway people say it takes), he got hit from behind by another car that was going too fast to stop in time. The car is a complete mess, and at the beginning we though my brother had gotten out of the car while he was waiting, but he didn't, so when he saw the car coming he tried to prepare himself for it, and he came back home with the car, but his back was aching, so my dad told him to go to the doctor. Hopefully, it's nothing. He didn't hit his head, he was moving around just fine, he seems completely OK, but he decided to go and get himself check out anyway because he's the one who when he gets sick, he ends up in bed for a week, he's the one that got the pig flu instead of me, when it was me the one using the subway every day and the one to travel to Mexico last year to the place the damn plague started. So better to be safe than sorry. Because damn it, it could have been worse, way worse, and it wasn't. Thank god? Hell no, I don't believe in god. But I'm grateful anyway, so far. To good fortune? maybe.
