before work~

I've been geeking out a lot lately. With Nataly staying over this past week we've been on fandom-love-mode every time I get home at night! We just spend the last weekend watching Lord of the Rings movies "making of" documentaries. We got out of bed, we made breakfast, we went back to bed and watch Fellowship of the Ring stuff. Then we went out to the supermarket, buy food, come back, made lunch and back again to bed and watch Two Towers stuff. It was very un-productive but man, it's been YEARS since I watched those stuff!

We also managed to watch the TegoMass concert, a Laruku concert, all the subbed episodes of Code Blue and went to the movies to watch Percy Jackson, which we KNEW it was gonna suck, but we enjoyed watching anyway. Damn Sean Bean, if he didn't played Zeus maybe I would have avoid it. Still, being the greek-geek I am, I kinda need to watch these movies, I'm still hoping for a miracle. Troy pretty much made me scream so loud people were looking at me funny at the theater, but 300 was pretty good, even if it was more about being faithful to the comic than to history (I admit, I found all those sweaty, perfect naked bodies hot, between all the blood and gore). Now that movie about the Titans is coming out in a few weeks, I think? I know it won't be perfect, but it's the mother of all battles for me, so I'll go looking for good scenes and decent camera work and that will be good enough for me.

NEWS is finally releasing a new single. I heard some of it and it wasn't really as catchy as I like them, but that's OK. Half the time I have to hear a song a few times before warming up to it. I think I will enjoy the a capella version a lot, though.

I also found out a few good news about dramas next season. One, Ryo is NOT getting a lead in a high school drama, thankfully. I think it's really getting to a point where I'm not liking his acting. It's unfair, really, cus I think he's a good enough actor, I just don't think he's as good as his more close fans think he is, and that makes me criticize him even more, because someone has to do it. Every year I see the fans waiting for the announcement of a drama for him and I dread it, because he hasn't worked ONCE in a drama I have enjoy watching (I liked his performance and his character in Ryusei no Kizuna, but I've already say what I thought of that drama, it was a waste of talent!), so by now I'm wary of his choices, and he never delivers more than he's asked, which bugs the hell out of me. Plus, from what've seen and heard of him on set, he doesn't seem to work much on his relationship with other actors, which, for a lead actor, that's essential! How his fans can expect him to take a lead when he doesn't seem able to lead.

I think this is a similar case with Kame for me, with the exception that Kame seems able to lead, at least. But there's also the point of me not liking Kame in general, when I do like Ryo. I feel some kind of sick pleasure in watching Yamato Nadeshiko suck at ratings, and then I feel bad about it because Tegoshi and Uchi are in it too... well, Uchi is in it too. I don't really care about Tegoshi's dramas, I haven't like any of his either. In any case, I just read Kame is gonna become a sports newscaster. I hope it works out for him, is better than watching him choose yet another sucky drama, by far.

I also found out there's confirmation of Ueno Juri and Eita working together again, and in a Kitagawa Eriko drama, of all things. I think that's a very good mix, a good scriptwriter and good actors that we already know have good chemistry. That the story involves twitter it's a bit of a turn off, but I'm gonna give it a chance anyway.

Same goes for Narimiya Hiroki's new drama. He's taking the role it was rumored for Ryo, and I don't like that either. But Narimiya has a better track list of choosing right projects and making stuff work, so I'm trusting him. He needs to get leads more often, so I hope the drama does good!

And now that I've talked so much about fandom, I have to start working. Break's over!
