Nataly! Call me! I'm about to be invaded by relatives and then left to fed for myself the next week because everyone will be out on vacation (except for my grandma). Considering that, why don't you come stay a few days?? CALL ME!! (there's a shiny present waiting for you~)

A few months before BOSS I watched Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru, a school drama with Takenouchi Yutaka as the lead (and Shinohara Ryoko showed up there too!), I liked him there too, but as Nodate he pretty much rocked! If you like the "teacher that cares" stories you may like that one. I valued that fact that it was about a real school, and what that school is doing for kids in Japan today, but the drama wasn't anything extraordinary. It had a good cast, though.

I actually like almost all genres out there. I end up liking dramas for a lot of different reasons, but it's true that I like a good twist the best and good police dramas make that happen more often. Still, I don't have a favorite genre. I've tried them all at least once!

I'll give you my favorites list, see if you can get an idea of my taste (from less to top fav):
Unfair, One Million Stars Falling from the Sky, Nodame Cantabile, Hero, Triangle, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Code Blue, Anego, Orange Days, First Kiss, Love Shuffle, Change, Sore wa Totsuzen Arashi no you ni, Stand Up!!, Proposal Daisakusen, Security Police, Tiger & Dragon, Kisarazu Cat's Eye, Nobuta wo Produce, Long Love Letter.

The only drama that's closer to comedy I think it's Kisarazu? Maybe Tiger & Dragon as well, but the comedy here is very "Japanese" sometimes, or just waaaaay out there in most of others, so not everyone gets it. I think both dramas are pretty much the best thing I've seen when it comes to making a drama. You watched IWGP, right? Same scriptwriter, more humor, a LOT less violence! (and several of the same actors and directors)

I tried watching Yamanade as well. Just... no. The whole plot is too stupid for me to take. Not to mention the sloppy camera work and not really the best performances... so no. Ug.

Shinohara had a baby last year or the year before, that's why she stopped working on dramas. She's back in the game now, supposedly, that's why there are drama rumors of her once again ^^
