Catching Up...

My neighbor just brought me these peonies:

She's the perfect neighbor---unobstrusive yet thoughtful. When we run into each other while working outside we invariably end up swapping something---she gives me flowering plants and gardening gadgets and I keep her supplied with my surplus herbs and veggies.

Update from my previous post:
The graduation ceremony in my home town in Texas went off fairly smoothly Saturday evening. The appeals court had ruled on Friday in the school district's (and valedictorian's) favor and prayers went on as originally planned. Some highschoolers wrote on their cars, 'I Love God'---how radical of them, eh?

...that's the same football field I graduated on 20+ years ago. I was valedictorian that year but didn't have near the reaction for my speech. ;-)

Have I mentioned The Eldest has a girlfriend? The week of his 16th birthday he used whatever the current jargon is for arranging that relationship and now has a very sweet (and attractive!) classmate to spend his idle hours with. Can we just settle on this girl for future daughter-in-law and get it over with? That way I can cross that off my list...
Yesterday he made her a mixed music cd and asked me to provide the 'cover art'. I was tickled to come up with this:

The Eldest provided input---the engineering draft paper, music lyric, and Farsi translation were all his additions. Fun project.

Hope the week has started well for everyone!
