BE WARNED: SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY GEEKINESS FOLLOWS!
This past weekend we were in Atlanta for the FIRST Robotics World Championship. The Eldest's high school team was part of the winning alliance---out of 340 teams from all over the US and several foreign countries. They got interviewed by CNN (boys in red shirts are two seniors from the team):

To find out more about FIRST check out their website:
LinkFIRST has three different divisions---FLL (2 age groups, 6-9, and 9-14), FTC and FRC (both for high school students). My kids were also involved in the FLL division in the past and it's fantastic.
FIRST was founded by
Dean Kamen, the inventer of the
Segway. Dean was at the event in Atlanta and is treated like a rock-star by the kids---he's mobbed for autographs!
