The law is what upholds Justice. Justice is what keeps society in check. Without Justice, there is no law. Without law, there is no society.

No. The laws may change dependent on the individuals; however, the actual goal never changes.

Let's say a corrupt official makes the laws. Laws which oppress the populace. Is the duty of an officer to uphold those laws, or uphold his personal sense of justice, and say that those laws are blatantly unjust?

The corrupted official would be stopped from making the laws in the first place; thus there is no problem.

What if the upper ranks of the entire system is corrupt? Then there's no oversight. No one can touch them if they own everything.
