Parade of Homes

Oct 12, 2008 16:40

So, this weekend was spent looking for a place to live closer to San Francisco. Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Colma, Protrero, Excelsior/Outer Mission. These are the cities or areas of San Francisco that we've been.

This is what we've learned:
-the Daly City house is awesome, but we're pretty sure they're hoping to rent to an Asian family.
-the other house in South San Fran that the realtor told us about is tiny.
-Protrero is pretty similar to South Minneapolis, and we don't want to live there.
-Excelsior/Outer Mission houses are so close together, it makes me a little claustrophobic.
-Colma is where you go when you die. Seriously, we saw about a dozen cemeteries.

Have we found a home? Not yet. We're keeping out fingers crossed for a house in Daly City, but as I mentioned above, there seems to be a preference for an ethnic background we don't have. There is one house in South San Francisco and two houses in the Outer Mission district that Geoff will try to see this week.

I'm so looking forward to knowing where we'll be living. Spending my weekends driving around the upper peninsula is starting to irritate me.
