Speaking of trying. Maybe you guys can try something in ARMENIA instead?! Like... make sure that recommendations of Council of Europe for the Armenian government are implemented.
I don't deny we have democracy deficit, moreover I welcome criticism from the Council of Europe, but criticsm from less democratic neighbours does not have any effect. Imagine Armenia had a better record of democracy, then Armenian voice would weigh more...
PS You missed an important paragraph:
21. The Assembly welcomes the clear political will of the Georgian authorities to resolve the issue of the repatriation of the Meskhetian population in line with its accession commitment to the Council of Europe. Taking note of the fact that the deadline for application under the Law on repatriation expired on 1 January 2010, the Assembly recommends that the Georgian authorities:
Yes, the paragraph about Meskhetian Turks was not included in my posting. I also omitted the paragraphs about Gypsy (Roma) ethnic minority as well as sexual minority, etc. The Resolution of the Council of Europe concerns wide spectrum of problems, of which I selected those that are relevant to us. Links to full text are provided at the bottom of the posting.
Maybe you guys can try something in ARMENIA instead?Your criticism on Armenia is not fair in this context of national minorities. Armenia has already taken all the measures listed above as recommendation for Georgia. Armenia issued a low on religion, according to which all confessions have free and legal environment to act (including the Georgian Orthodox Church which has a doicense on Armenian territory, and a church in Yerevan). Number of schools for national minorities in Armenia grows (even for those, who didn’t have their national school in Soviet era!), new textbooks and other educational material is being published by state. Armenia

1. Meskhetians are BIG TIME RElEVANT, especially in Javakheti context 2. Recommendations you mentioned are very easy to implement given the fact that ethnic Armenians constitute 99% of the population
Again, I don't discuss importance of these recommendations. The idea of my posting is that, if you guys, want to exert political pressure on Georgia you, yourselves should have a better democracy record. That's it.
