I have been playing a bit with the polymer clay but not as much as i'd like. I was all ready to play with my clay and new tools last night when i ran into problems. I picked up some tshirt transfer paper so i could make polymer clay transfer tiles. According to the directions, one could use the transfer paper in a laser printer or inkjet. I thought that was perfect since i have both and the laser printer would obviously be the best choice. So I loaded the paper, picked out the photos i wanted to copy, and hit print. I got a freaking paper jam. And, it stunk too. I still haven't gotten the transfer paper out of the laser printer. I played with it and the screen said the paper jam was cleared and ready to print. I don't know where the paper is. I 'm going to have to clean out my desk/work area, pull the laser printer out from under my table and play with it so i can find the transfer paper and get it out. Ugh.
So, then I put a sheet in my inkjet and figured I'd just play with that. There were no problems with the transfer paper in the inkjet. So I happily set about making my tiles so I could proceed with the transfers. While i was rolling out the clay, I turned on the toaster oven to preheat it. While i was happily playing with my clay, I looked over at the toaster oven and it was FULL of smoke. I jumped up, unplugged the toaster oven and felt it. The oven was too hot to move. After it cooled off, I went outside and stuck it in the snow and figured I'd throw it in the trash today. So, I didn't get to play with my clay and transfers. I don't know if the photos i printed out will still transfer well later today or not.
I'm just happy i only paid $1.25 for that toaster oven at an awesome thrift store. Mom has an extra toaster oven just collecting dust in the basement so i'm going to use that later tonight.
I saw the new doc yesterday, the one my general practitioner referred me to after I told him I couldn't see Patel the shrink because he was an asshole. I like the new doc. She's cool. We decided to switch my meds up starting today. So far, it's going well. I was taking 90 mg of Cymbalta. The doc asked if i was interested in trying the Effexor again. I told her i definitely did. So, now I'm taking 60 mg of Cymbalta and 37.5 mg of Effexor. I'll do that for 2 weeks then up the Effexor to 75 mg and 60 mg of Cymbalta for another 2 weeks. Then, up the Effexor to the 150 mg and no more Cymbalta. Cool. So far, i'm not having any problems with it. Yay!! I'm stoked.
I'm supposed to meet with my client at 3. I think i'm going to cancel due to the weather. I think I'm going to call off due to the snow. Of course, I'll just say that i'm at the doc's office and they're running behind. I'll make up for the hours tomorrow and Thursday.
Sean got a job. His first day is today. I hope he enjoys it. He's done at 7pm. I don't know if we'll hang out or not when he's done due to the snow, being tired and whatever. I almost don't want to hang out so i can play with my clay. Maybe i'll have that out of my system by the time he's done with work and showered and whatever. It's cool he got a job and started it shortly before he graduates from his trade school. I'm happy for him and i hope he likes it.
I just finished shoveling the driveway, sidewalk, front steps, back steps and front walkway. I also have a load of laundry in the washing machine and dryer. I need to put away the clean dishes and get the dirty dishes going in the dishwasher. I'm going to get a shower, do more laundry, the dishes and then play with the clay. I'm excited!!
I have tons of ideas for the clay. I want to make earrings, cuff bracelets, magnets, keychains, necklaces, coasters, journal covers and who knows what else. I do want to make another Salad Fingers figurine. If this one goes better, I want to make Salad Fingers accessories and some of the other characters in the Salad Fingers cartoon thing. I can't wait. I'd better get my arse in gear so I can do all this stuff. I really want to give Sean a cool Salad Fingers figurine for Valentine's Day. I'm also giving him a set of charcoal pencils, a kneadable eraser, and sketchbook for Valentine's Day. If I have the time and energy, I'm going to bake him something too. It'll be cool and I know he'll love it. Especially if it's chocolate. I need to find the wacky cake recipe Gram and I used to use when i visited her in summers. That's an AWESOME chocolate cake. Super chocolate-y, not too sweet, not too bitter. Yummy.
