Wow, it's dark, windy, and rainy outside at the moment. Go rain; rain is goo ^^ Ergh... my left shift key is being retarded so I have to use the right one... how annoying...
Anyways, it's been what... five months since I last left a message here? Yup... okay, here goes:
The biggest piece of news is that since our lease on the last apartment expired in August, I now have an apartment with my oldest brother. And so far, we haven't wanted to kill each other yet. Now that majority of basically everyone has moved to Colorado Springs, it is still kinda weird not seeing 'em on a daily basis. Still see Amanda from time to time here around town (and we really gotta hang out some random time! How 'bout sushi one of these nights>?) and Bryce stops in every once in a while at work, but go those variables like work and school that makes it near to impossible for free time now.
I've officially been working at the Vision Center for a year and I should be getting a raise in this next paycheck. We had an associate who used to work back in layaway start about two weeks ago and I'm still quite surprised that she hasn't quit yet. There's a lot of work to do and a lot of stuff to learn, and when you mix that with irate customers it gets very frustrating. These past few weeks have just sucked, though. Business is down, we're still getting handfuls of bad jobs in from the lab, and 90% of the people I've had to help I've either wanted to smack them or their screaming children. *looks out window* looks like it's trying to turn into sleet out there. Note: think about grabbing umbrella before going to work... And thanks to bad timing, I missed registration for my certification tests so I have to wait until this spring to take them, darn it... it's been hard to say I like my job lately. I think if I worked at an actual doctor's office rather than Wal-Mart it'd be better.
I was in a small car accident in August that ended up with a totalled car and a ticket. I was finishing a turn about a second after the light at the intersection turned yellow and got smacked in the rear right bumper by a van who seemed to have sped up to try and make the light because when I started my turn I had plenty of time to make it through the intersection safely. But as I was the one turning, I got the ticket and I have to go back to court this Thursday ><
School's going great so far. Spanish is a breeze (figured I should brush up on it for work as we get a few customers in who don't speak a whole lot of English), geology is awesome, as usual, and sociology is proving to me more interesting than what I thought. If everything goes smoothly, I should be graduating with my AAS this spring or summer, then off to bigger and better things. I don't know if I still want to stay in state or take off somewhere else. Hmm...
I'm back in dance and I'm singing with the choir at church again, so those help balance out all the rest of the crap I have to deal with. I'm getting over a small case of shingles right now (as I was exposed to a very small case of chicken pox when I was a baby and now that there's really nothing but stress I deal with, I was very susceptible to getting it ><). I'm slowly but surely working myself out of a little bit of depression. Life just hasn't been all that kind to me lately, but it's calming down just a little bit. I'm still trying to make a trip up to Denver sometime soon to see friends and such, but an actual vacation won't really happen till this spring when I get to go out to Minnesota to be at Kat's wedding ^_^ I can't wait! Haven't been to Minnesota yet... ^_^ Apparently my step-sister is doing a study abroad thing in China this upcoming semester just because she has the money to do so.... that'll be nice when I get take off and get out of the US for a little bit. And yes, for all who don't know, I'm once again single as of this summer.
*scratches head* Yup, I guess that does it for now. That was kinda fun. My sociology class was cancelled this morning so I've just been here writing and doing homework. Gotta take off for work here in a few minutes so I can sit there and rot until 8:30 ><
