I’m not sure how I feel about this. Remember how I was saying earlier that people who do flashbacks in Gamaran usually foreshadows them dying? … Uh oh. (I take that back, I take that back)
Gama goes: こんガキャア!! From being slashed by Ranmaru. That phase could be sorta translated into ‘You little ____’ I guess? Which amuses me very much because the one who says that is even more childish than the person directed to, hehe.
Then Ranmaru goes into flashback mode to the day where he first met Jinsuke. It was actually only 5 years… geez. You would think with such devotion [rolls eyes] Ranmaru might have served Jinsuke longer than that. Ranmaru looks and acts so cute as a kid, despite all the blood and the killing. Wasn’t Gama 10-ish when Jinsuke betrayed Oogame? Ranmaru here looks around 14-15. So maybe he’s 19-20? Hms.
Anyways 5 years ago Ranmaru is shown to have a reputation for slaughtering men, making everybody in town fear him and calling him ‘demon child’. It was never really explained WHY he was doing it (for all we know, he could just be slaughtering bad guys Iunno) but Ranmaru seemed to take offense in being called a ‘demon child’. He’s just like.
“Everybody should just make me mad… I’ve decided” <-- cuz if Ranmaru’s angry he’ll go kill people
“Because I’m alone… I have to be strong!” <-- huuugnh
Ranmaru does this glare of doom making people flee from him. Then Jinsuke appears and is like. “I’ll teach you a ‘reason for fighting’”. (btw so totally love how Kai’s just there. He’s realllllllly loyal to Jinsuke). Haha I don’t believe Ranmaru wanted a new reason to fight but apparently he became so shocked at Jinsuke’s words that he forever became his bitch loyal follower.
Well I guess in a way it makes sense for Ranmaru to relate ‘reason for fighting’ to ‘reason for living’… hence why he was so adamant in killing Gama.
Gama’s still sorta paralyzed from the damage by Ranmaru and just stared as the final blow came.

LOL. THIS IS THE WORST. A few entries ago I was like. Oh yeah, Naoyoshi would step in front of Gama to protect him pffffff. And if he did, Ranmaru would probably slash Naoyoshi by accident cuz he couldn’t stop himself in time. Turns out I was wrong on both accounts.
Naoyoshi’s doing his heroine thingy. “Don’t kill Gama cuz I love him!” “Gama is my first friend blah blah, he always risk his life for me, blah blah.
俺は我間を目の前で死なせることは絶対にさせない！
(I'll never let Gama die in front of me!)
この命がある限り我間を殺すことは俺は許さない！！
(As long as I still have life in me, I won't forgive anyone who kills Gama!!)
NAOYOSHI WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME?!
Then immediately after I saw that frame I thought to myself, omg will Naoyoshi do that for Ranmaru when Gama’s about to kill him?!?! LOL
Ranmaru is… shocked (no really.) and he ALMOST has this… reluctant bitterness to it. Sorta like. He doesn’t want to harm Naoyoshi but at the same time it’s conflicting with his ‘reason for living’.
Ranmaru grits his teeth.
Ranmaru: Even if that is the case, I still can’t forgive that man… (so totally love that Ranmaru still has manners <3)
Then he goes on and spews that it’s for the sake of Muhou school = Jinsuke
OMG DAMMIT RANMARU. It’s like talking to a broken record player. Sigh…
And we see a very sad Naoyoshi-sama. “… Ranmaru!! Is this your answer…?” <-- AWWWW
Guess sometimes even the heroine can’t stop the fight between hot blooded rivals.
Some more talk going on and all of a sudden the scene changes to Zenmaru.
NOOOOO. Was what I was thinking lol. Not that I hate Zenmaru or anything, but I thought the author was going to delay the fight again and start off with Zenmaru’s.
Zenmaru was running from random Bakufu/Muhou people and went inside a room. But as luck will have it, he encounters Kujou. THEN we see Kai from behind the doors going フフ… 見つけた. Omg what a pervert LOL.
Then to my relief, the scene switches back to Ranmaru and Gama.
Somehow, if the author is doing the whole flashback/other scene thingy, then I think the battle between Ranmaru and Gama is going to end soon. I don’t really want that to happen as come on, how often does Ranmaru get this much screen time? Plus, I don’t really want to think about the chances of Ranmaru dying…
