I wanted Sylar's "rebirth" to be almost like a physical change in his brain and body, with Sylar's memories physically sweeping out Nathan's memories, Nathan's mannerisms, and Nathan's desires. And then Luke takes all of that away from Sylar for him. The trigger for Sylar wasn't as much the physical sensations of the sex (because we all know Samuel was having Lydia totally tap him every night) but the visual of Luke looking up to him.
I wanted that eye contact to speak unsaid volumes, because I tend to like actions speaking louder than words.

Ooo, Hollow Man! Right here I wanted to both show Peter breaking. We get shown the physical effects of the betrayal later and earlier in the story, but this scene was all about the emotional impact. Just the bald facts from a man who has absolutly no reason to lie and every reason to know exactly what he's doing.
Peter knows the Haitian isn't lying, whereas if Nathan or Angela or Bennet had told him, he would have room for doubt. So that makes it just that much more devistating, because there's no way to deny the knowledge.
Perversely, once he has the truth from a trusted source, Peter is going to pick at his own wounds until they're completely opened, so he asks the Haitian for more. Peter is rather perverse like that sometimes. I think he wants to be able to hate his father with a clear conscience.
