I stumbled on this movie while randomly looking at foreign films, the pretty movie poster caught my eye. I checked out the plot and watched the trailer which resulted in this. Marvel in the pretty.
Plot Outline: The freewheeling passion of youth and the unpredictable perils of fate are both the subject and the breathtaking form of Joachim Triers lean and kinetic journey through friendship, love, madness and creativity: REPRISE. Trier viscerally captures the way life takes off at rocket-speed in the beginning of adulthood and the what-ifs and why-nots that both drive and haunt us as the unbridled hopes of youth come to a screeching halt.
If you are a fan of Truffaut and French New Wave films, this is definitely a must see.
"They would have met by chance at a cafe...no, on the street..on the Metro...at an airport...no, in the Luxembourg Garden.

"Phillip later told Kari he knew they were destined for each other. In ten seconds, she will look at him. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five...four...three...two...one."
I love the use of the countdown in this movie.
"Bullshit. Feeling guilty is slave mentality. Sometimes you have to be Zarathustra. Be mean."
There was this huge quote from Lars during this scene in the movie that was hilarious, this is only a snippet.
"You put your hair up."
"Yes."
"I like it."
"No, you don't."
"I do. It's just different. You look nice."
"Careful Lars, too much Heidegger can make you dizzy."
"This is a mistake."
"Don't worry about it."
"It just isn't like what it used to be."
"It worked because I told you first. When I reach zero, you'll fall in love with me."

One of my favorite scenes in the film. Erik being super cute when he gets woken up by Lillian. I love how his face changes throughout this scene.
