So its been months since ive written in here. not much going on in my life right now. new semester has settled in. im really learning a lot from my drawing class and my 2d class is a joke but i think i finally have a handle on it. im kinda looking forward to not having any days off because its been causing me to miss my art classes and its hard to get a feel for them. my japanese history class looks to be pretty easy as long as i keep on top of it and the teacher is pretty nice. art history is nothing new but im kinda uninterested in all this ancient greek stuff. its all just remnants that no one really knows anything for sure about. how exciting. wheres my doryphorus damn it. i also met with the lady about the book and it seems like something id really like it do as long as i can get it together. i dont know anything about the subject or how to publish a book but this is going to be a really good learning process. she said it could take 2 years, which seems rediculous but what do i know. im not really sure what kind of work would be involved. first we need to solidfy what to do it on and hopefully i can do that over the weekend and then plan to meet with her again.
(camping and knife stuff that no one else cares about)
in other news ive gotten back into looking at camping stuff a lot. its starting to slow down a bit though. im really at the point now that i have a good system and i really just need to be happy with it and use it before i invest in much else. I have come to rather shocking discoverly lately though. im seriously considering switching from normal folding knives to just carrying a leatherman or SAK (swiss army knife). its more useful than just a knife, looks less scary to people, and while the knife part isnt as great as a standalone blade its adequit for anything im going to need to do in everyday circumstances. also, while im in the woods i think im going to stick to fixed blades because they are just more tough and useful. that pretty much elimates the need for a folding knife. im sure ill still buy some because they are fun and useful, i just think they might become a secondary to my other carry options. plus for about 25-35 i could get a nice folder or for like 50 i could get a leatherman that has two blades, a saw, pliers, screw drivers, etc
