stupidity

I know this is a really weird and really random first entry. But it's what's on my mind right now. So, on the subject:

Stupid people really piss me off. I mean, if you choose not to think about something before you say it, what's the point in saying it? Think about the consequences of what you're saying. Think about the reaction others will have to it, and how it changes what they will think of you. Yeah, I know people are always like, "It doesn't matter what people think of you, just be yourself." I get it. But there's a line. I mean, if you're a stupid person, wouldn't you want people to think you're smart? It's much more beneficial to you, if that's what you care about.

Like, the other day, someone in my history class (to be honest I can't remember who) said something that they obviously didn't think about before they said it. So, it was the day of the in-class section of the Geo Bee, and my American History teacher, who shall remain unnamed for security purposes, but is a highly effective and hilarious teacher (if you go to my school this will identify him), well, he was very, for lack of a better word, hyper. He went off on these really random tangents, and was discussing with the class in general things like the interesting place names that we had questions about in the Geo Bee. So, then, someone in my class was like, "Mr. -------, did you forget your ADD medicine this morning?" In my mind I was like, Oh my god, that was a really rude thing to say, do you even THINK?, but he just kind of shrugged it off, and said something along the lines of, "Well, I actually took someone else's, which may be the problem." Still. Unless they are the ones who bring it up, you don't ask people questions about their ADD, or whatever, whether or not they have it. It tends to be a touchy subject. Also, the technical term would be "medication", and not "medicine".

That just happened to be the first incident that popped up, if that explains the randomness. Also, if you have bad grammar, FIX IT. See, that's what SCHOOL is for. I happen to, unfortunately, be learning about CAPITALIZATION and HOMOPHONES in my English 8 class. That is a major waste of my time, since I had to learn (a relative term) it last year, and the year before. Guess when I learned it (and remembered it) for the first time? SECOND GRADE! So, I don't care if you missed something because you were typing fast. That's what spellcheck is for. And yes, I realize that Microsoft Word is a pretty crappy program, but the new 2007 version is better at catching stuff. So review your work or something before you send it off to the general public. Aren't teachers supposed to reinforce the concept of correct grammar, capitalization, and punctuation when they grade your work?

So yeah. I'm sorry if my saying this bothers you (I am in a pretty irritable mood, so this will be blunt), but if you're stupid, or merely not bothering to think at anywhere near your full mental capacity, SHUT UP. I realize that I am a very advanced person for my age, academically (I make up for this in sports), but still. At least if you're bothering to go to an academic school like mine, THINK.

Closing the rant now, but I needed to vent about stupid people. I just had to deal with some, and it was extremely aggravating.

thoughts, stupid people, randomness
