About that job fair....

Yeah, so I forgot to mention what happened at that job fair that I went to last week. Well, there really wasn't much to it; you go to one job fair, you've been to them all. Only, this one wasn't really all that big. A few companies showed up, but they were some big ones. Also, this job fair was for military veterans and those preparing to leave service, which would explain the size of the fair.

Anyway, there was one thing that I should mention that is of some interest:

Blizzard was there and one of their recruiters liked my qualifications.

Yes, you heard right. Blizzard. As in, Blizzard Entertainment. As in, the ones who created the Warcraft series. (oh, yeah, and World of Warcraft, too, I guess)

Oh, yeah. Jason wants.

So, the position open was Associate Technician, Network Operations meaning that I'd be working day-to-day stuff on Blizzard's network, rather than maintaining something like the WoW network or something. More 9-to-5 stuff, which suits me fine. The job's in Irvine, though, so I'd have to move farther north, maybe in Corona, Pomona, Temecula, or somewhere similar.

Anyway, a few days ago, I called Blizzard to follow up on the job opening. I gave the recruiter a printed copy of my resume which she took with her, but I applied on the company website as well, to make sure that I was in their system. The recruiter told me that she saw my resume in the system and that her supervisor would be reviewing my resume later next week since they were going to be gone for a few more days at other fairs. She also mentioned that I could call back on either Thursday or Friday and speak with her supervisor to see where I'm at in the hiring process.

I REALLY want this job. Not only because unemployment sucks, but because this is Blizzard. A video game company. As a gamer, this is pretty much as close to a dream job as I can expect to have for my occupation.

Wish me luck. I hope I get this job.

win!, g4m3r 4 lyf3, ftw
