... till the Flora London Marathon, in which I am competing (in the loosest possible sense of the word)
I started training in December and have currently logged 343 miles of training runs since then, slightly less then I should have due to a bit of knee-knack, but still reasonable enough. I managed to complete the Reading Half Marathon in 2h03, which felt great, but that was a month ago and I've been training hard since then. My goal time is sub 4 hours for the real thing, although as long as I come in under 4h30 I won't be too upset.
It's been a long ride, or rather run, but I feel the better for it. Did my last long run today, a mere 8 miler, and felt better at the end than at the beginning. Now comes the 1 week of carbo-loading, eating as many complex carbohydrates as possible in the next week. Much pasta, banana and peanut butter on the horizon.
I'm running for Diabetes UK and if you feel so disposed you can
sponsor me here - I'd appreciate it, but I'm not going to ram it down your throat any more, I'm just here enjoying a waffle ;)
