I'm working at Carnagie SVRA this weekend. Last I checked the temperature outside is 110. The air conditioner has been working non stop and it is still 80 in the ranger station. This would not be that bad except for the bullet proof vest. I'm just way over heated!!!
I just had to stand outside for 45 min. because some drunken dumb ass drove his car off the road and down a 12 foot drop off, through a fence, then into the park. He could not speak English so I called for CHP to balance him out (cop speech for provide a field sobriety test). CHP was also kind enough to give him a ride to county jail for me. He also does not have a driver’s license and I'm really hoping will shortly find himself back in Mexico.
Other then that it has been a very slow day. I spent about 1/2 the day just driving the park so that I would know how to get around. It has been about a year since I have been on the trails and last time I was on an ATV. Some of the roads I used to drive on are no longer passable. Others have been repaired. It is a 1500 acre park with about 12 main trails. Sometimes it is hard to keep them all straight in my head. Remembering all of the hazards for each trail is even more difficult. I'm very glad that it is a slow weekend and I will probably not have to find my way around the trails in any sort of hurry.
On a personal note I saw Clerks II. It is the best movie I have seen in a long long time!! Way better then Clerks. Go see it.
I will also be in Huntington Beach all next week, enjoying the cool coastal temps and mostly nude people. My work is so hard some times :) I will be moving hay bales and helping to train kids how to ride ATVs.
