Hmm I suppose I should update every now and then at least, if not to let the world know what's going on, then to at least keep some kind of journal. Hello to all of my friends, sorry if I've missed any big news- I haven't been reading for about a month or so.
Anyway, people like to look at pictures so I thought I'd make up for my lack of text with a few cool ones. Remember, each one is worth a thousand words, so that's a couple of posts per picture. Enjoy! They are behind the cut for those unfortunate dial up people out there... it must be like getting left behind in a cave expedition with only a match... speaking of caves, the first pic is of a small area of Luray caverns. We visited there the week after my birthday, and then we drove down Skyline Drive in VA and took a long hike (over 4 miles) down 1,040 ft to a waterfall that was 87ft high. The path started out well enough, not paved or anything but clear. By the end, it was rocky, uneven and steep. Still we enjoyed being able to go off of the path and get near the water.
There is another picture of the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, from the beach. We played poker there, but stayed in the Tropicana down the strip. While in the room, we fed seagulls outside of our window. We could hold the food out and a couple of brave ones would eat it out of our hands.
In other news that won't be pictured, Nancy and I have met with a realtor in Camden, New Jersey. She showed us seven houses over Tuesday and Wednesday. The five we saw on Tuesday were not what we wanted for that kind of price at all and we were worried about our chances on Wednesday. However, the last house we saw was a good choice for the asking price. It has the space we were looking for with a large backyard, it is in move-in condition and it's in a nice, well kept and quiet neighborhood convenient to the major roadways to Philly, New York and Atlantic City. You see, we want to be able to go to all of those cities at a moment's notice, and then retreat to our quiet neighborhood in our active town. So, we put in an offer, and it was more than another offer that the seller also received. The seller is meeting with his agent to discuss our offer today, and we have our fingers crossed. We offered the seller the exact price he was asking for, so hopefully the other offer will not try and bid over us. If so, I think we are considering Gloucester county, which is south of Camden. Our realtor said that there would be more options there, and it wouldn't be much farther from Philly or AC. We will look there the next time we go up and see for ourselves.
One last thing in case Nancy doesn't post about this herself...we drove up to New York and she tried out for a TV reality show for fashion designers! Whether or not she gets on TV, I think she rocks for trying her best. Her clothes look great and her portfolio is awesome!
OK on to the pictures!
I don't usually wear my hair down (notice the hair tie on my hand) and you know what? I'm cutting it soon- to celebrate our new house in our new town once we sign a contract.
