First off, I'm agreeing with Steve. Both my Parents follow School Board politics pretty well and I'm in our 'Sucky' band, and I haven't seen that big of a difference from Nolan. Sure, He comes and sits threw our concerts (which a lot of teachers do) and sure he says 'Good job Band' every now and again. But half the time he doesn't even acknowledge us at Assembly's when he's talking about other clubs or groups. I think that it's hard for you to say something like that when you're not in the program. If I’m wrong, Please tell me how with some proof and I’ll totally take back this statement. But up until I see it, my statement stands.

Keep in mind I'm your friend. But a lot of the people who want Nolan to go are the ones who got in trouble by him, AKA the Bad kids. There are that ten or twenty percent who have good, legitimate reasons why they want Nolan to go. But you can't let people get to you like this. Seriously, you’re flying off the handle because Brittney had an opinion. If you do that every time someone has an opinion you don't agree with you're going to be freaking out an awful lot. Unneeded stress, correct? Maybe they have reasons for not liking Nolan. You don't know that. You know how many times in the last two weeks I've heard people make unintelligent, unreasoned comments about Mr. Nolan getting fired? A lot, and I'm not freaking out. I actually like him. I understand that we could have someone worse who could cut every Arts program ever, and that's why I'd like him stay because even though he's been a jerk to me in the past. It can be worse, and I respect him because he does try.

Lets face it, Maybe we don't know every reason why the school board wants him gone? And I speak as the voice of reason because everything you just described up there is my Dad's job. That's the job of facing a community, which Mr. Nolan knows. He angered people. He's got to face that by himself. Mr. Nolan could've retired two years ago, Maybe part of him wants to do that now. I completely agree with you that he can't motivate everyone and teach every class and make our school a great place by himself.. But I think telling us all to go blow ourselves is a bit overboard.

Just remember; everyone has an opinion. Some are like butt holes. Eh?

And for the record... Our band doesn't suck. We’re working off the same funds as the rest of you, and we’re doing a pretty good job. I think you were out of line saying that, and I think you owe a couple of people an apology. Because if I’m correct a lot of your friends take pride in that ‘Sucky’ band. And you were once part of it.

I will get off my soap box now. Be angry if you wish. I like logic, it makes my world go.

I couldn't agree more. To further a few of Kacey and Steve's points, I didn't realize that the band sucked. Or that being said, I didn't know the the band what the only sucky thing in the school. I realize our band program isn't the best in the state, Petoskey probably is. And we're not the best in the county, Shores or Muskegon are probably up there. But considering what we have as far as talent and funding, we do a great job. No one with any brains would say differently. It can't be said that I'm making any of this up because I want to look better either. I'm in the band and know what goes on in the program. With that, I bid you all a good day.

But see, it isn't JUST brittany. It's one of those things where there's just that final touch that brings you over the edge. And unfortunely, brittany was the final touch.

And like you said, there are 25% of the kids that have a legitimate reason, and not a single person that has replied to this are a part of that 25%.

And as for apologizing for saying the band has sucked, not a chance in hell. I mean, I don't want to be a jackass, but you're all reading it wrong. It says SUCKED for a reason. It said the Band, Choir and Theater programs have SUCKED for a reason. The basketball team has SUCKED. The soccer, tennis, wrestling, football, baseball, softball, and track teams have SUCKED. OV has SUCKED.

PAST TENSE PEOPLE. PAST TENSE.

You're entitled to your own thoughts on the matter. I never said you weren't. I really, personally, don't think any program truly 'Sucks' has or has sucked at our school. I think that we're working with limited funding, and that the programs are doing the best they can with the limited funding they received. Unfortunately for the arts program, which is something both us participate in... Funding is really low there. But it was burn to a lot of us who just you just use the band as an example of OV's problems.

I understand you’re frustrated by people saying things about Mr. Nolan, I'd be the same way if I saw someone trash talking one of my favorite teachers or something. But if you want to insult my grammar, go for it. My Intention of this was never to single you out or attack you for your thoughts. You forget that I like to play Devils advocate. But how do you know that I don't have a legitimate reason for not liking Mr. Nolan? I can't recall one time that I've ever talked to you about it face to face, or over the internet for that matter either. I'm not even going to say here, Pubic ally, why I don't like him because it’s my own personal business. But if you want to know, ask. Don't make assumptions.

And I personally thought that you and I were above throwing insults at each other. I thought I could leave you a comment with my own thoughts on the matter (Which is typically what happens at LJ, You do it at my LJ, too.) and we could have an adult discussion on it. But Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way. Maybe you're not insulting me or burning my favorite program as much as I think you are. In that case, I'm more than willing to hear you out on this.

You're not doing anything for yourself by fueling the fire with the 'Grammar' lesson. But Hey, It's you LJ. Do what you want, Insult your friends if you want.

And that is your along with everybody else's problem. Right now, you along with everybody else that have commented, with the exception of adam, are so narrow minded you cannot get pat the fact that I said the band has sucked. However, not more than a sentance later it specificially says that he has always been there for 'us', meaning more than the band. Now, if you and everybody else cannot see that, then that is not my fault nor is it my problem.

And if people are insulted by a grammar lesson....well, thats not really my problem either. You can choose what you are insulted by.
