I have some updates /w pictures forthcoming (later this week.)
Long story short, our car was involved with a small contest, involving it and a curb, and it lost by a margin.
$1800 dollars later and 2 weeks from February 1st we should have it back. For $1800 dollars you would have thought epic level damage, right? Nope, not really. It's mostly parts damage, (suspension parts, brakes, wheel, tire, steering knuckle, and FQ-panel,) and didn't look as bad as it cost. Thankfully we were fully insured, which made our out of pocket the $500 deductible, and have a rental car for the meantime. I'll post those pictures tomorrow, if time allows.
The next set of pictures will be of my new improved self portraits with a new addition to my face. The family traits finally caught up to me.
Finally, I am considering this list of PC upgrades for my newly betrothed:
GIGABYTE GA-MA69GM-S2H $74.99 (Best clocking mATX AMD solution IMO)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition $99.99 (Multipliers unlocked, so it clocks like a mad hatter)
G.SKILL (2 x 1GB) (PC2 8500) 1066 Mhz $69.99 (More overclocking overhead /w this ram)
CM GeminII HSF $29.99, $20 MIR
2x SILVERSTONE FM122-B 120mm Fans $22.58 (for the HSF)
MSI NX8600GT Twin Turbo $99.99, $20 MIR
CORSAIR 550VX PSU $99.99, $20 MIR
$514.41 /w shipping, with $60 in rebates coming back.
This is all going in a case that I've customized with 2x140mm fans, and a couple other little goodies. (pics soon)
She has expressed interest in understanding how overclocking, computers, and gamers really work, to the point that I want to build that system for her, and its not a bad little system besides.
The 8600GT TT is more than enough horse power at 1280x1024, (the LCDs native resolution,) in anything up to but not including Crysis.
I've fully converted her to the dark side, so let the head-shots commence.
May the gibs be with you! (Or was it on you... or around you... or in your hair... I never remember.)
