Song 69
The sufferings of the Anointed One
1. For the conductor, concerning alternates, of Dâwíth.
Save me, O mighty Ones because waters have come up unto my life!
2. I have sunk down into the deep mire and there is nowhere to step! I have entered into the depths of the waters and the currents have carried me off! [Disclosure 17: 15]
3. I have wearied myself by calling out, my throat has become dry, my eyes are exhausted from waiting for my mighty Ones.
4.“They are numerous, the ones hating Me without reason, more than the hairs of My head! They are many, My enemies of the Lie; then I must restore what I did not steal.” [Song 40: 12, Yâhuwchânâ´n’s Glad Tidings 15: 25]
5. O mighty Ones, You are Who knows my folly and my wrong-doings are not hidden from You.
6. May the ones waiting in hope for You, my Sovereign Yâ-hwéh of hosts, not be ashamed by me; may the ones seeking You not be humiliated by me, O mighty Ones of Yisrâ’Ë´l!
7.“Since concerning You I endure reproach, ignominy has concealed My Face.
8.I am a strange One to My brothers, and a Foreigner to the sons of My mother,
9.because the zeal of Your house consumes Me and the insults of ones insulting You, they fall on Me.” [Yâhuwchânâ´n’s Glad Tidings 2: 17, Romans 15: 3]
10. And I wept during the fast Myself, and it has become for a reproach for Me,
11. and I put on sackcloth for My clothing, and I became for them for a byword;
12. The ones sitting at the gate talk about Me, and the taunting songs of the ones drinking strong drink;
13. but I, My prayer is for You, Yâ-hwéh, a season of favor of the mighty Ones, by the abundance of Your kindness respond to Me by the certainty of Your deliverance,
14. rescue Me from the mire and do not let Me sink down, let Me be delivered from the ones hating Me and from the depths of the waters,
15. Do not let the currents of water carry Me off, and do not let the depths swallow Me down, and do not let the well close her mouth over Me!
16. Respond to me, Yâ-hwéh, because Your kindness is good, according to the abundance of Your compassions, turn towards Me,
17. and do not conceal Your Face from Your Servant because I am distressed, respond to Me quickly!
18. Draw near to My soul, act as a kinsman-redeemer; on account of My enemies, ransom Me!
19. You are Who knows My reproach and My shame and My ignominy, all of My oppressors are in front of You,
20. Reproach has broken My heart and I am sickened, and I lingered for one to show grief but there was none, or one to console but I found none;
21. Then they put gall in My food and for My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.” [MattithYâ´huw 27: 34, Glad Tidings of Këph 5: 16]
Curses on those guilty of the death of our Sovereign [MattithYâ´huw 27: 25]
22. Let their meal-table become before them for a bird trap and for their retributions [to become] for a lure. [1 Qorinthíym 10: 15-22, 11: 27-31, Yshá`Yâhuw 65: 11-12]
23. Let their eyes be dimmed from being able to see and cause their backs continually to bow down!
24. Pour out upon them Your indignation and let the fury of Your anger overtake them,
25. Let their encampment be made desolate, let there not be anyone dwelling in their tents190 [Deeds 1: 20]
26. because they have persecuted You Whom You have smitten and they have added to the pain of the One You slew, [Yshá`Yâhuw 53: 4-5, 1 Qorinthíym 11: 27-31]
27. Attribute the guilt of depravity upon their depravity and do not let them enter into Your justification. [MattithYâ´huw 16: 19]
28. Let them be blotted out from the scroll of the living and may they not be recorded with the justified ones.
What we should do
29. Though I have been afflicted and one suffering, yet the salvation of Your Face, the mighty Ones, He will share with me.
30. I will boast praise of the name of the mighty Ones by song and I will magnify Him with open and joyful acknowledgment191,
31. And it will be more pleasing for Yâ-hwéh than () a steer with horns and hoofs! [`Ivríym 13: 15, 1 Këph 2: 5]
32. Let the humble ones see it and rejoice,
“Seek Yâ-hwéh, and your souls shall live,
33. because Yâ-hwéh is One Who listens to the needy, and He does not despise His prisoners!”
34. Let the heavens and the earth, the seas and everything moving in them boast praise of Him,
35. because the mighty Ones, He shall save Tsiyyówn and He shall rebuild the cities of Yâhuwthâ´h and they shall settle there and they shall take possession of her,
36. and the seed of His servants, they shall inherit her, and ones who love His name, they shall dwell in her!
*190 This prediction which was foreshadowed with the dispersion of Yehuwthâ´h by the Romans is also end-time prophecy says that the Land where the “Yehuwthím” now inhabit would be deserted and emptied. *191 “open and joyful acknowledgment” is Strong’s #8426, profession of His name.
