R.I.P. Jodi
Just got off the phone with my mom. One of my dogs, Jodi, passed away tonight. I've had her since I was 9 *thats 20 yrs* so she was pretty old and we knew it would be soon. On my way to meet my mom at the vets now, so that we can have her cremated. She's the last childhood pet (out of 5) to pass on.
EDIT @ 8:00am I know she might have "just been a dog" as some not-to-be-named asshole told me last night. But she's been throughout my entire childhood and especially now that I live in the same city as my family again. It is hard to let go of the past, especially of a family member (yeah...I said it, she's family) that's been in the majority of my life. I love my dogs like someone would love their children, especially since I don't have any of the latter.
