twilight...
(araba, i haven't spoiled the book but i can't speak for the comments that might come. if you are still reading twilight, beware...)
in short, i discovered that the author of twilight is supposed to be a mormon. erica and i had a conversation yesterday inspired by our respective bits of information about the book and its author. we also talked about an article in "bitch" magazine which reached the same conclusion we did...that twilight is abstinence porn. i mean, hell, people who aren't having sex deserve some good stories to read too! but yeah...the interesting thing about the book is, from that religious perspective it can be used as a brilliant piece of propaganda for abstinence, for reinforcing a particular point of view on women's roles in relationships, etc.
all that analysis aside...i was highly entertained! mostly because i am able to read without being completely brainwashed about the subject matter. grain 'o salt. the end of the book was kind of abrupt to me...plot twists and climax and all. i was more interested in the dynamics between bella and the family than some super duper high speed chase. that's just me. but whatever...it's a story...one of many. i'm debating about continuing on to the next one, or just leaving it be.
