The Blog of someone who is living in Baghdad and suffering the ongoing effects of this lovely little war Dubya is subjecting that country to.

To the writer of this blog:

I feel in my heart for you and all who suffer in Iraq under this "war on terror" my country is subjecting you to.

My country, alas, is the US, and I am, though not without objection, one of the millions upon millions funding it, my tax dollars going into one fund after another which funnels directly into this cold and calculated attack on the good people of Iraq, without purpose or reason, and certainly without anything approaching logic or reason.

I can only hope, in my deepest thoughts and prayers, that the occupancy will end soon and the people of Iraq can finally get the chance they need -- and sorely lack right now -- to rebuild your country and try to go on with life again -- something that, I fear, will never happen so long as this "war on terror" continues. Loved ones in both countries lose their lives on a daily basis because of this little project of our president's, and I can only hope the time comes when he is removed from office and a sensible leader can take his place... one who understands that Iraq is not the enemy, and certainly not the one that Bush attempts to paint it as.

Yours in Peace,

PS: I intend to link your blog to others of my friends... they may end up writing you as well, for they, like I, am under no veil of confusion over the realities of this brutal and senseless attack, and we all deplore the loss of lives which is occuring there on a daily basis, for no reason other (we believe possibly) for Bush's personal gain.
