Apparently the witch is DEAD
I ran into Mr. and Mrs. Strickland tonight (with Atticus!), and they told me that a few days ago MS. CHRISTEN AND MRS. CALAGNA RESIGNED FROM FRANKLIN.
You're not hallucinating. This is exactly what I heard. Apparently one of the boards that supervises Franklin noticed the atypical power structure of Christen's administration and issued some edicts/ultimatums that didn't sit well with her... Mr. Strickland also mentioned that Christen/Calagna might sue the school for DISCRIMINATION AGAINST LESBIANS. Which I guess means that they were actually a couple (I always assumed this was a rumor, due the presence of Mr. Calagna...).
I'm a little afraid to post this widely on facebook. But I do want everyone to notice and rejoice....
In other, sadder news, it seems that Mr. Peterson quit a few weeks ago. Apparently he opposed some of Ms. Christen's censorship and they took the paper and yearbook away from him. Hopefully he'll consider returning now that she's gone!
