That was refreshing.

In other news, cannot believe how hooked I am onto Grey's Anatomy - realized just how emotionally invested I was in the show during the finale when I made all the excited/frustrated squealey sorts of sounds that come from true fangirls. Have a (not so) secret crush on the guy who plays Alex, actor Justin Chambers. Also, ALIAS is getting really good again, which is a shame seeing as the last episode ever is next Monday. Right, enough frivolity.

Finished my first week of work today - by some freakish stroke of luck I don't have to work Fridays, which seems rather too generous: is like college, except for brain activity part of it. Can't believe the incredible amount of mundane work that needs to get done in law offices, have spent the last couple of days filing, stapling, xeroxing, punching holes, answering telephones, and typing things into little spreadsheets. I can't say I mind. My coworkers are pretty chill - the office manager, my boss of sorts (who is not the real boss, but rather is just in charge of me) is 24, is finishing up her Master's in Linguistics, is an Asian music junkie (proper junkie - she actually coordinates US concerts and tours for Korean and Thai artists and has done more than her fair share of "stalking") and has volunteered to take me clubbing at Korean clubs which are supposed (Korean) celebrity-spotting prime locations. Somehow I think I'd be a bit of a wet blanket - am totally not into the Asian music scene whatsoever - which includes Cantopop, KPop, Mandopop, you name it - maybe I should look into some of that stuff. Or not.

Am in the middle of Bill Bryson's In A Sunburned Country, which is, in essence, a book about Australia. It's very very technically a travel book (I guess?) but it's written more like a non-fiction novel about the things he saw and experienced in his travels Down Under, written in a really dry humor, partly I think is because Bryson spent almost 15+ years living in England before coming back to the States. Incredibly interesting read, in part because I know nothing about Australia beyond kangaroos, boomerangs, and Kylie, and also because of Bryson's style. Apparently he's written similar stuff about the US and England, so will look into that (after I finish the other four books on the summer book list, which will be never.)
