So, for about 14 months now (not like I've been counting), I've had pain in my neck/shoulder/arms. It started out as just off and on pain up at Purdue, but since I moved down to Phoenix it's gotten progressively worse. When I got to the point where I was secretly crying at work, it was finally time to go to a doctor. At first I went to 'neuromuscular therapy" which was similar to trigger point therapy. Well, all I got out of that was even more pain. And some pretty good drugs. So today, I went to see a chiropractor. He said that out of the 7 vertebrae in my neck, at least I had one in the correct place. :-) He cracked a lot of bones in my neck and back, which isn't the most pleasant thing realizing that you are going to let some stranger jerk your head around. And I feel like some of the muscles that might have been "closed down" during the past year are starting to get used again just through walking/sitting/etc, and I feel incredibly sore. And I got to have a
ultrasound, which I thought was just for pregnant people, but apparently such is not the case. So now I am awaiting the results of an x-ray and MRI. Hopefully I can have this fixed soon, but I have been hoping that for quite a while now. I just look forward to the day when I can move my arm in a full-range circle.
