fun facts about coffee
its almost the end of the semester, for teh win. i cant wait. i started off this semester excited but now jsut want it to be over so next semester will start. im really excited for next semester. as soon as i realized most of my credits from this semester would count to nothing in particular, i kind of stopped caring. i am getting an A, maybe an A+ in my astronomy seminar class, and the same in physics lab, but other classes have been falling by the wayside. but, the 4 credits that actually count are all going to be A's so thats cool. next semester is physics 160 with a lab class and a problems class, astronomy 270 with a lab (get to use the observatory!), calculus, yoga, and if i can fit it in, an ethnomusicology class to finish my music minor. cant wait!
as predicted, now that im not a music major, im really enjoying music again. yaya boom went to austin for a few days in november for three shows, all of which went great. the people we stayed with were incredibly cool, theyre a married couple who play in a two piece metal/stoner rock band that kicks ass. they were so nice and hospitable and genuinely happy, it was worth the whole trip just to meet them. they toured through albuquerque last month and we hung out again, twas awesome. in january, yaya boom is touring through california and arizona. so far we have booked san diego, long beach, santa barbara, oakland, and phoenix. might try to get a gig at stanford playing at mirra's co-op house, hopefully that will come through. yaya boom is also recording right now, the record should be out in february. then we're going to do another, and hopefully have that done in the summer. when i joined the band they already had 10 songs they wanted to record, so thats the first one. since then we've been writing more, but the new ones sound different because i helped write too instead of just playing what they already had, so thats why itll be 2 records in one year. the bellmont started recording last week too, hopefully that will be done by the summer, and then we'll tour in may. yaya boom will probably tour right after that, and then im meeting win in amsterdam on july 8th. then ill probably travel around a little bit on my own or with whoever, then go to new jersey for a while before finally coming home. i wanted to take a class or two over the summer but i dont think its going happen, as it looks like ill be gone basically the whole time. the bellmont might disband as terry's girlfriend is moving to seattle probably to do her post-doc work there for a couple years. then they'll come back. but, ian from the build is moving back this spring, hopefully, so the build might get back together in some form or another, although we might make it a bit different. we've talked about making an album with a 'movie' of some sort that goes along with it in time to tell a story, although since its the build there wont be any words anywhere. could be really fun, im looking forward to it.
