Dear Festividder letter

Oct 07, 2012 10:27

OMG. Festividder! Thank you, thank you, thank you. It's my very first Festivids, and you are now a part of my cherry popping. (Congratulations?) I am SO EXCITED that you are making a vid for me! I will tell you a secret: Nobody has ever made me a vid before. Never ever. Which means I automatically will love whatever you make unequivocally. The bar is set pretty low here; you lucked out! \o/ And to make it even easier for you, I have selected 8 things that make me very, very happy and that I love very, very much but aren't omfg the thing of my heart, so you can totally relax. Have fun! ♥

Hook: (safety)
Oh man, this is such a big piece of my childhood. I was 11 when it came out and I probably watched it 100 times. I wanted to be a Lost Boy so badly, or at least fly and kidnap hot girlfriends out of bedroom windows (wait, that sounds bad). I love both the Peter Pan universe and the idea of rediscovering yourself when you are lost, so this movie hit all my buttons. This film made imagination and wonder so alive, you know? I'd be happy with pretty much anything here. A retelling of the film, a vid about Peter's journey, a vid about Jack, anything. I know your vid would capture the heart of the film, and that's what most important.

The LA Complex:
KAAAAAAAALDRICKKKKKKKK. That's about as coherent as I can be about this show. I would love a Kaldrick character study that spans both seasons. His storyline is so rich and heartbreaking. I love most of the characters, though, so I'd even settle for a gen vid or a Raquel or Abby character study, but please no Connor. And if my festividder happens to be kuwdora, I want that Nick vid we keep talking about. I want you to make it for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. *grabby hands*

Rainbow Brite:
My childhood again! This show made me a big lez. I still have "The Mighty Monstromurk Menace" on VHS here in my room. I'm incredibly easy here -- I'll take anything. I don't have many specific memories of the show outside the Monstromurk storyline (which I love, especially the Brian character's journey), so anything you go with is fine. I love Rainbow's leadership and how kickass she is, so anything about the family dynamic of the Rainbow Kids or what a BAMF Rainbow herself is would be particularly solid here. Just think "big sparkly rainbow lesbians" and you'll be on target. The more rainbows, the better, is what I'm saying.

Survivor:
Don't let the fact that I've vidded this myself scare you! There are many more Survivor vids I want that I'm too lazy to make. The one I want most is about the two seasons with women's alliances that ran strong to the end (seasons 16 and 24). Anything about girl power will work here, though, so feel free to use other seasons too if you like. I also have a BIG love of Kim/Chelsea from season 24, so you could just make me a vid about them and I will love you FOREVER. Or, I'd love a Parvati study (seasons 13, 16, and 20), because she fucking rocks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: (safety)
CHILDHOOD. This movie is so amazing. (I wanted to live in the Foot lair so badly.) Anything you do with this will work for me. Just roll with it and eat a lot of pizza and have fun.

The Wire:
I admit my request here is pretty specific -- I want there to be an Avon/Stringer vid in this world so much. I've tried to find a song to do it myself, but I just haven't yet. Hopefully you will have better luck! But in lieu of that, anything about the Wire universe will work for me. Make me an Omar character study. Make me a Kira character study. Make a gen vid about how fucked up Baltimore is or the bureaucratic system or anything. My favorite seasons are 1 and 3, if that helps. OOH, make me a Marlo vid! The Wire is so amazing, anything you do with it will be great.

The Wizard: (safety)
OH HEY LOOK IT'S MY CHILDHOOD AGAIN. This was the coolest movie ever made. It has the worldwide reveal of Mario Brothers 3. It has baby Tobey Maguire trying to be a punk. It has NKOTB playing in the background twice. It has THE POWER GLOVE, WHICH IS SO BAD. It has threats of breast touching and fake dinosaurs and skateboarding your way across America. This movie has it all. Anything you do with it will be amazing. Just a strict retelling is fine, or you could focus on the family aspects, or the Nintendo aspects, or the journey the trio takes. Anything. I'm super easy here.

Zerophilia: (safety)
As a trans person, this movie went straight to my heart. Oh, Luke. Oh, Michelle. Oh, all of them. Any vid that captures the goofy yet sincere, hopeful spirit of this film will work for me.

YAY FESTIVIDS.
